About Me

Hi,

My name is Mehdi Tazi and I want to tell you a little about Panama City Beach, my favorite city in the entire world. For me there is no other place that combines such amazing beauty, excitement and wonderful experiences.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places and although I have seen to some fantastic sights it is this coastal Florida community that holds my heart.

My family is very close and we traveled extensively when my sister, brother, and I were younger. My parents wanted us to see as much of the world as we could and I will always be grateful for the opportunities.

As a family we visited the North African country of Morocco, lived in France and Spain, and traveled throughout Mexico, Canada and The United States.

My parents made sure that we got a feel for the different US regions. We ate lobster in Maine, and they sent my sister and me to see shows on Broadway.

We even got to live the Mardi Gras experience in New Orleans when we were teens. There are many outstanding cities in the world but none of them ever intrigued and fascinated me as much as Panama City Beach, Florida.

My first trip to Panama City Beach was during the summer of 1995. I was only 18 and had gone to visit my aunt who lived there. That was the best summer of my life, and I ended up staying there for almost 6 months. This was when I discovered what they mean by “déjà vu”.

Panama City Beach, Florida was a place that was instantly comfortable and familiar to me. The beach and city made me feel as though I had been there many times before. My aunt just smiled when I told her this, and she said the city seemed to have this effect on many people.

That summertime experience changed my life forever. Although I knew that I would be going to college across the country I was in love with this Gulf Coast city.

I made myself a promise that one day I would return to Panama City Beach and live there. Each year since 95 I would make at least one trip back to visit my aunt and some of my friends. I would go deep sea fishing, snorkel, or just cruise along the coastline.

For the past 8 years my young son, Malak Zane Tazi, has been with me when I make this annual vacation pilgrimage. My happiest moments have happened during these times when I have shared my favorite city with my favorite person.

Currently I work in Dallas, Texas as a restaurant manager. The job is a good one and while I am fortunate enough to have a good life here it seems incomplete.

Every day I dream of the way the beach looks as the sun peeks over the horizon. There are times when I am concentrating on scenes like that and reliving happy moments along the coast. It becomes so real that even here in landlocked Dallas I can still smell the fresh crisp ocean breezes, even if only for a moment.

Why do I love Panama City Beach so much? This is an easy one for me to answer. It is because of the beauty of the land, the indescribable fresh air and the friendliness of the people.

Never have I found another city that provides so much for everyone. Vacations here are very affordable and there are always plenty of activities that will please everyone of every age.

Let me introduce you to some of the wonders you will find in my favorite vacation hot spot. Panama City Beach is famous for being one of the top destinations for students and young couples who want an affordable but fun filled get-away.

Families are always thrilled to discover the many different and exciting attractions in Panama City Beach that are waiting to fill their days without breaking their budget.

Kids and adults all love the sparkling, warm waters and white sandy beaches found along the Gulf. Shipwreck Water Park is a land attraction that everyone can enjoy, but you can also take the family on an ocean party cruise aboard the Sea Dragon.

There is also kayaking, canoeing, parasailing, hiking and nature preserves for everyone to enjoy. Coconut Creek Family Fun Park is one of my favorite places to go with my own son. We have a great time competing on the mini-golf course and just wait until you get a chance to check out the giant maze.

Deep sea fishing in Panama City Beach is one of things that I love best about this area. The waters are often as smooth as glass which means an enjoyable trip for all.

Even landlubbers will enjoy some great fishing moments and you never have to lose sight of land. Trigger fish and King mackerel are only 2 of the many species that the local boat captains will help you land.

If you want a quieter, more relaxed vacation there is always golf, tennis and museums that you can enjoy. For people who like shopping there is the enormous Pier Park center that has over 100 retailers already on board.

There are also some larger attractions like Zoo World and St Andrews State Park. The State Park is a wonderful place to explore and is easy find. My 8 year old and I like to go here during the spring or fall when we seem to have it all to ourselves.

Yes, I love Panama City Beach and I am glad to have a chance to share my excitement and knowledge with you. I hope that you have an opportunity to see firsthand just why this I am going to make this my home.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me, and if you come to visit maybe my son and I can show you some of our other favorite sites that are known only to the “locals"...

So Long...
